I resisted the temptation to open them as they arrived, and stacked them neatly and tantalisingly on my desk aside the computer. At last, late last week, I opened them. I cannot describe the pleasure of carefully opening each package, and exploring the contents. I spent quite some time on this stage.
In no particular order, here are each of the books. I’ve tried to capture the overall visual feel of each one, as well a detail ore two, and a shot of the colophon where featured. I have included a link to each persons website/blog/gallery and hope that you will check out their other work too.
The first one is “Someone Made This” by Theresa Easton:
This is by Catherine McCue Boes and is a tribute to an old friend and mentor, Phyllis Attenborough:
This one is entitled “Rorschach” and is by Cheryl Penn, the originator of the exchange:
Kensa Rescorla‘s book is a visual and very personal autobiography:
Although Ruth Shaw-Williams book is simply titled ‘She’ I am reliably informed that her subjects name is Bunty Cumberpants! She and Victor would have got along well I think!
Stephanie Turnbull created a biography of her surname “How The Turnbulls Got Their name”
